Most Americans travel to campgrounds at the weekend and over the public holidays. It is recommended during public holidays and busy seasons that you plan your route as much as possible and book your campgrounds in advance to avoid disappointment and your preferred campground being unavailable.
When booking your campground, for first time RV'ers, book a "pull through" site. This allows you to drive in one end and pull out the other when you leave (no reversing). A full "Hook Up" means you will be connected to mains water, mains electricity (powers the roof air conditioner and plug sockets) and waste. Some campgrounds also include cable TV (subject to vehicle being equipped with a TV).
